The Adidas Finale Rome

The Adidas Rome Collection is the Adidas Finale Rome football.  This ball is engineered with 14 panels bonded together creating rounder shape than conventional footballs that have more panels.  Adidas uses PSC-Texture (little goose bumps) on the panels of the ball to allow grip and control for players in all conditions. 

 

The paneling of the ball depicts images of ancient Roman athletes and gladiators; moreover, each image represents a value these people deemed important like power, speed and teamwork.  Like the boots, the ball is coloured in the Roman colours of burgundy and gold. 

The Roman burgundy represents the deep desire of the players for the Champions League trophy (represented by the Roman gold), which they will compete for in the final in May.
